This Refund Policy applies to all subscriptions purchased through taxgnosis.co.za. It should be read together with our Terms and Conditions.
TaxGnosis is a digital service that becomes accessible immediately upon payment. Our refund policy reflects the nature of digital goods under South African consumer protection law — while being as fair and transparent as possible.

Cooling-Off Period — Direct Marketing
In terms of section 16 of the Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008, if you subscribed as a direct result of direct marketing — including Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, or email advertisements — you have the right to cancel within 5 Business Days of the subscription date without penalty.

- Include your name, email address used for purchase, and payment reference number
- We will confirm receipt within 1 Business Day
- If you have not accessed paid content: full refund within 7 Business Days via PayFast
Important — digital goods
If you have already accessed the paid content of the application before the 5-Business-Day cooling-off period expires, the cooling-off right is waived and no refund will be issued. Access to paid digital content constitutes acceptance of the goods.
General Refund Policy
Within 7 days of purchase
If you have not yet accessed the paid content of the application, you may request a full refund within 7 (seven) days of your subscription date. Refunds in this window are considered at our discretion, taking into account the circumstances of your request.
After 7 days
Refund requests received after 7 days of the subscription date will not be considered, except where required by applicable South African law.
No partial refunds
TaxGnosis subscriptions are billed annually. We do not offer partial refunds for the unused portion of an annual subscription period, except where required by law or agreed in writing.
How to submit a refund request
- Email support@taxgnosis.co.za with subject line "Refund Request"
- Include your full name, email address used for purchase, subscription reference number, and reason for your request
- We will acknowledge your request within 3 Business Days
- Approved refunds will be processed through PayFast to the original payment method within 7 Business Days of approval
- We reserve the right to decline a refund request where there is evidence of abuse of this policy
Support Services Refunds
- Support Services are billed monthly, separately from the annual app subscription.
- Refunds for Support Services will only be considered for the current month's charge and only where no support has been provided in that billing month.
- To cancel Support Services, provide 30 days' written notice to support@taxgnosis.co.za or WhatsApp 078 302 1405.
- There are no refunds for prior months of Support Services already rendered.
Firm Licence Refunds
- Refund requests for firm licences must be submitted by the designated firm administrator.
- If a firm reduces the number of users during a subscription period, no refund or credit will be provided for unused users. Users may be reassigned to different staff members at no additional cost.
- If a firm cancels its subscription entirely, the general refund policy above applies, based on the date of the firm's original subscription.
Failed or Reversed Payments
- If your payment fails or is reversed, your access to the application will be suspended until payment is successfully resolved.
- For annual renewal payments that fail, you will receive a grace period of 3 days during which access is maintained while you resolve the payment issue.
- If a chargeback is raised against a TaxGnosis payment, your access will be suspended immediately pending investigation.

Statutory Exceptions
Nothing in this Refund Policy limits or excludes any rights you have under the Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008 or any other applicable South African legislation that cannot be excluded by contract. Where such statutory rights conflict with this Policy, your statutory rights prevail.
